About Me

 My name is Sylvia Avila, I live in Staten Island NY and I’m currently a film student at Art and Design High School. I hope to graduate from this school with a CTE diploma and go off to college to study film and screenwriting.

I found my passion for screenwriting because of a middle school project where we had to make our own Netflix TV series. I branched off from that project and started writing an entire screenplay for it. Ever since then, I’ve loved using the medium of video and making screenplays. The stories I make are mainly from real life events that have happened to me but I make the story less realistic and have a more realistic fiction feel to it which is something that most people wouldn’t expect when first looking at my stories. To do this, I divide my time on mini projects to avoid writers block.

I think art is important because it's a form of expression through visuals and it's important to know how to express yourself in that way. Everyone is able to convey emotion differently through art and I hope you enjoy the way I show my emotions/feelings through my films.
